# Errors and Limits

> 401, 400, 429, size caps, and what is not available.

#### Why am I getting 401?

The key is missing, mistyped, revoked, or not sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. API keys start with `z_sk_`.

#### Why am I getting 400 about the model?

The model ID is not in the catalog, or you asked for a level the model does not offer. Pull an exact ID from `GET /v1/models`. The suffixes are `:confidential` and `:encrypted`; `:encrypted` also needs the Encrypted headers.

#### Why am I getting 429 with `insufficient_quota` on a new key?

The organization has no funding. An API key needs a subscription or a prepaid balance. Add funds on Billing. See [Plans](/plans).

#### Why am I getting 429?

A rate limit or an exhausted allowance. `rate_limited` carries `Retry-After` and `X-RateLimit-Limit`, `X-RateLimit-Remaining`, and `X-RateLimit-Reset` headers. `insufficient_quota` means the allowance or balance is spent. See [Rate limits](/api/api-reference/errors-and-rate-limits/rate-limits).

#### Is there a request size cap?

Chat requests 64 MiB, other inference routes 4 MiB, inline attachments 1 MiB decoded. Oversized requests are rejected before inference.

#### Does streaming work at every privacy level?

Every level streams; Encrypted deltas arrive as ciphertext. See [Streaming](/api/features/streaming).

#### What is not available yet?

Audio and video input, and the Files API.
