session opens a separate harness session in your current workspace where every turn runs through Nito. Your ordinary session is untouched.

What It Keeps, and Why
A session keeps your prompt history, transcripts, and project state on your machine. That is the point of it. A session is meant to be lived in across many turns and returned to later, which is impossible without a record. So a session gives you routing privacy, not local privacy:- Your harness provider never sees the work. Every turn goes to Nito, at the privacy level of the model running it.
- Your machine keeps the record. History and transcripts go to a dedicated Nito profile directory at
~/.nito/hosts/<host>/<profile>/, separate from your harness’s own configuration. The directory is restricted to your user account, and Nito does not encrypt what is inside it. Deleting it removes the record. See Uninstall.
