Your usage lives on the status card, the live view of your plan and remaining allowance. Check it whenever you want to confirm what plan you are on or how much of the free allowance is left.

From a Chat

The card shows your signed-in profile, which environment you are pointed at, how you authenticated, your plan, and your usage, including any allowance notice.

What the Card Tells You

  • Plan: which one you are on (Free, Plus, Advanced, or Max).
  • Free allowance: on the free plan, the card shows your monthly limit, how many requests you have left, and the UTC reset time.
  • Connection: the profile and environment you are connected as, which doubles as a quick confirmation that the plugin is working.
The remaining count and reset time are read live, so the status card is the source of truth for your allowance, not any number cached anywhere else. See Free Usage for how the allowance works.

From the Terminal

You can also check from your shell:
This reports the active profile and connectivity. For a full check that also confirms a request reaches a model, run nito doctor.

When You Are Close to the Limit

The plugin shows you an allowance notice as you approach and reach the limit, rather than letting a command fail without explanation. When you run out, commands that call a model pause until the monthly reset or until you upgrade. See What Paid Unlocks to keep working immediately.
