You can use the plugin without a paid plan. Free accounts get a monthly allowance of Nito requests, enough to try the whole workflow before deciding to upgrade.

The Allowance

Free accounts get 10 requests per UTC calendar month: an ask or an inline private question, on a set of select models. The allowance is shared, so a request from Claude Code and a request from Codex draw from the same pool.
Your remaining count and the exact reset time are on your status card. That card is the live source; nothing else is.

What Counts as a Request

A request is an ask or an inline private prompt that reaches one of the select models available on Free. Each counts once. Full sessions are not part of the free allowance. Commands that do not call a model do not count. Browsing the catalog with models, checking status, setting a default with model, and opening the help menu are all free and unmetered.

When It Resets

The allowance resets at the start of each UTC calendar month. It does not roll over: an unused balance does not carry into the next month, and the counter returns to full when the new month begins.

When You Run Out

When the allowance is spent, commands that call a model stop until the next reset or until you upgrade. The plugin tells you when you have hit the limit rather than failing silently.

Not Part of the Free Allowance

Two things need a paid plan no matter how many requests you have left: See What Paid Unlocks.
